If you have varicose veins you will no doubt be able to see them! Varicose veins very often cause no symptoms at all, they just look ugly and can be a major source of embarrassment. The symptoms that i had where mainly swelling around the ankles and sometimes a bit of an aching feeling in my legs after standing up all day. Other varicose vein symptoms:-

Itching of the skin in affected areas.
A change in skin colour. Skin may turn brownish around the larger varicose veins. I have noticed this problem.
A restless feeling in the legs.
Night cramps.
A burning sensation in the legs.

I think these symptoms are pretty straightforward and speak for themselves, if you have varicose veins it's not that hard to know this is it? If your like me it's even easier because you can't miss the damn things!!

It is possible that you can have varicose veins, another posh term is venous insufficiency! without even seeing visible veins. The symptoms are caused by pressure on nerves by dilated veins.

My suggestion is that if you have any of these symptoms then go to your doctor and get an expert opinion. Even if you have varicose veins don't just leave them and hope they will go away, you can get help for them, and varicose surgery does work.
